  Read poor reviews before going here. It was my first time in Australia and it was the closest Western Union service to me. Despite poor reviews, I got quick and friendly service. Thanks a lot. I walked in expecting service I read online but I got great service.

  I am not happy with how slow the customer service is. Yes they are nice helpful people but they are extremely extremely slow. Each time I go the post office I line up for like 30minutes to get to the front! I hope they’ll come up with a strategy to improve this situation.

  Multiple consecutive failures by multiple staff caused stress and near loss of my Registered Post letter.
  
  I returned from a short overseas trip to find a collection card for a registered post, with warning that the letter would be returned to sender if I did not collect by the previous week, while I was away. I did not know who the registered post was from or what it was about. So I rushed to the post office and explained I was overseas and got this warning card.
  
  The first post office staff tried typing in the tracking ID on the card in the system and she couldn't find it because the ID was illegibly written in messy handwriting. She told me to call customer support but I argued there was no point because even I cannot make out the handwriting, what can the support hotline do to find the letter?
  
  Then she claimed the letter had already been returned to the sender and very rudely demanded to know why I didn't collect the week before, even though I already told her twice that I was overseas, and have the right to do so. I asked her to at least tell me who the sender was so I can contact them directly. She said this was not information they keep. Her tone became increasingly condescending and argumentative.
  
  I asked to speak to someone else. This second lady kept saying there was nothing they can do but I persisted. Then the second lady went inside to check the stored mail twice and finally came out finding my letter. It wasn't returned to sender at all, but was sitting in the post office all this time!!! She told me date of the first attempt of delivery, which was before I went overseas but no post office collection card was left for me the first time, which should have been done.
  
  This experience with Aus post had the following 5 consecutive failures on their part:
  1. On the first delivery attempt they failed to leave a card, which they must do.
  2. On the second attempt, they did not write the tracking ID in legible handwriting on the card, making the letter untrackable.
  3. The post office does not seem to have an orderly system to store uncollected mail such that it can be found and handed to customers without delay or arguments.
  4. Staff are quick to berate and blame the customer even if it is Australia Post's system failure.
  5. There was no apology given for the appalling treatment of the customer, nor acknowledgement of their stuff up.

  I would give this business more stars if there was an option to.
  
  One of the best post offices locally. The staff make all the difference and are incredibly helpful & efficient.
  
  The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and go the distance to make your transaction pleasant.
  
  The post shop is well-stocked with postal supplies, gifts and the odd bits & bobs you may need. They have a decent collection of greeting cards, post cards, first day covers, stamps and coins for the collectors.
  
  I have found some interesting gifts (and reasonably priced too) from the shop.
  
  Some of their notable facilities besides the obvious postal services:
  
  - Parcel locker
  
  - Photo service
  
  - Passport service
  
  - Photocopying
  
  - International money transfer
  
  - Cash out option
  
  - Bill payments
  
  Ryde Post Shop is conveniently located in the shopping centre. You can access the place easily and have escalator, lifts and stairs all in close proximity depending on your preferred access.
  
  They do get busy during lunch time after 3 PM. A good time to finish your post office errands without the big wait would be around 10 AM to 12 PM; it is relatively free around that time.
  
  Overall, a great place to send/receive post, parcels, pay bills, passport application/ renewals and shop for interesting gifts.

  At first, tell me have to register a aupost acc to make a delivery, and it takes 30mins, and it was unable to send a verification code thru email. And after that, the staff said I can do that without an acc. It is ridiculous.
